Common questions.

Everything you need to know about Foresight before getting started.

Getting Started

What accounting software does Foresight support?

Foresight currently integrates with QuickBooks Online and Xero.

If you use a different accounting platform, let us know — we're actively expanding our integrations based on user demand.

How long does setup take?

Most users are fully set up in under 5 minutes. Create your account, click "Connect QuickBooks," authorize the connection, and Foresight automatically pulls your last 12 months of financial data. Your dashboard populates immediately — no manual data entry required.

Do I need any financial or technical knowledge to use Foresight?

No. Foresight works whether or not you have a finance background. Business owners get every metric explained in plain language, and the Ask Foresight AI can answer any question about the numbers. Advisors get the same intelligence built to move faster across a full client roster — less time building reports by hand, more time on the analysis that matters.

Data & Security

Is my financial data safe?

Yes. Foresight connects to QuickBooks using a read-only OAuth connection — we can view your data but cannot modify, delete, or write anything to your books. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest.

Your financial data is never sold to third parties, never used to train AI models, and is only used to power your Foresight dashboard.

Can Foresight make changes to my QuickBooks?

No. Foresight is strictly read-only. We pull your financial data to display and analyze it, but we cannot create, edit, or delete any transactions, accounts, or records in QuickBooks.

What data does Foresight pull from QuickBooks?

Foresight pulls your Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statement data — the same reports you'd generate inside QuickBooks, but organized and analyzed automatically. We do not access individual transaction details, customer information, employee payroll details, or any data outside of standard financial reports.

Can I disconnect QuickBooks at any time?

Yes, absolutely. You can disconnect your QuickBooks connection from your Account Settings at any time. You can also revoke access directly from your QuickBooks account under Connected Apps.

Features

What is Ask Foresight?

Ask Foresight is an AI-powered financial advisor built directly into the platform. You can ask it any question about your business finances in plain English — "why did my expenses increase last month?", "what's my cash runway?", "how do I improve my profit margin?" — and it responds with answers grounded in your actual financial data, not generic advice.

It's like having a CFO available 24/7, at a fraction of the cost.

How does the forecasting work?

You input growth rate assumptions for each revenue and expense account, and Foresight projects your P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statement forward by as many months as you choose. You can save multiple named forecasts, apply one-time adjustments, and compare scenarios side by side.

For seasonal businesses, you can also base projections on the prior year's same month rather than the prior month.

What is the Scenario Planner?

The Scenario Planner lets you model "what if" situations — what if revenue drops 20%? What if you add a new expense? What if you lose your biggest client? — and see the projected financial impact on your P&L and cash position before you make a decision.

Can I export my reports?

Yes. Every page in Foresight — financial statements, forecasts, variance analysis, cash intelligence, hiring planner, and scenario planner — supports export to PDF and Excel. You can share reports with your accountant, business partner, or lender with one click.

Billing & Plans

How does firm/advisory pricing work?

Firm accounts are billed by client connection volume, not per seat. Growth includes 5 QuickBooks or Xero client connections for $349/month, Agency includes 15 for $549/month, and Max includes 35 for $849/month — each tier includes every additional connection at a lower per-connection rate than the last. If you manage more than 35 clients or a large team of advisors, our Enterprise tier offers custom pricing built around your team and client count — contact us to discuss.

What's the difference between Monthly and Annual plans?

Both plans include every Foresight feature. The Annual plan is billed once per year at $199/month ($2,388 total), saving you $1,200 compared to monthly billing at $299/month. Annual subscribers also receive priority support and early access to new features as they launch.

Can I get a refund on the Annual plan?

Annual plans are billed upfront and are non-refundable. We recommend starting with the Monthly plan if you'd like to try Foresight before committing to an annual subscription. Contact us to discuss your options before committing to an annual subscription.

How many users can be on one account?

Direct small business accounts and Growth/Agency/Max firm accounts are single-user. If your team needs multi-user access, our Enterprise tier supports it — contact us to discuss your team's setup.
